According to Wikipedia...
- Cabin. A small, roughly built house usually with a wood exterior and typically found in rural areas.
- Log cabin. A small house built from logs.
- Cottage. A dwelling, typically in a rural, or semi-rural location.
- House. A small or larger home than can typically accommodate larger groups.
- Bed n Breakfast. Loosely defined, a bed and breakfast is usually a small family-run inn (ten rooms or less) that serves complimentary breakfast. Many bed and breakfasts are actually former historic homes that have been converted to accommodate multiple guests for a vacation stay. The innkeeper usually lives onsite or in a guest house on the property and functions as the concierge, providing personal recommendations of nearby restaurants and sights. Because a B&B is usually run by an individual or family rather than a corporation, a stay at a B & B usually feels more intimate than what you might find at a hotel or motel.
- Inn. Also loosely defined, an Inn can be a Bed n Breakfast or a small hotel.
Nowadays, visitors can enjoy the personal service, once only available with a Bed n Breakfast or an Inn, at a vacation home, vacation cabin or a cottage. Second home owners are preparing their rentals with the same loving care and attention to details.
